there are two sizes: the Crystal one is a few square inches bigger
NOTE: this review is for the **Black** smaller scale w the silver surface (I have brief comments at the bottom in regards to the glass "Grey" one) bought this scale specifically to prepare for my next solo backpacking journey. I never thought I'd become a "gram counter" and the day has officially arrived where every gram counts as I push the limits on gear that trades off between price, weight & comfort! The scale is much smaller than you might think which makes it easy to stow but limits the convenience of weighing larger items. If the item I am weighing is wider than the scale, the reading won't be accurate if you put the item directly on the scale – the ends of "softer" objects (like a tent) end up touching the table because they droop. To solve this, I found a small box, tared it, and put items in it. I also wanted to test pushing the 15kg (33 lbs) limit of the scale so I tried putting a folding table on top of a medium box – it actually works because (1) the table is stiff enough to let the box center all the weight on the scale and (2) you need to elevate the item so you can read the LCD. However, this is when I realized it's a real pain to read the LCD at an angle. Given the weight reading is probably not 100% accurate & plan to weigh items no more than 1kg 90% of the time, I'm willing to overlook the readability of the LCD at an angle. It still would be nice to have a way to adjust its contrast. A few ppl said it would be nice if there was both a "lb oz" and "oz' unit setting – I agree. I did notice that "fl oz" seems to do the same thing? I haven't tested it extensively because the lack of "oz" encouraged me to take the jump and just go metric (and I live in the states!) – using grams is more accurate and easier to do arithmetic on anyways! but for those who want "total ounces" at least the option to try "fl oz" is there. I've been using the charge the scale came with & there is no indicator of how much charge is left but it's no biggie – I'm impressed it's still running after maybe 20 hours of use so far? I got the scale because it has USB-C – which means I can easily plug it in the kitchen if I don't use external batteries (2 heavy duty AAAs are included) or internal battery goes bad a few years down the line (which can't be replaced) So what is on my wish list for the next revision of this product is diverting the cost of the included disposable batteries & internal battery to a charging circuit capable of *not* charging non-rechargeable batteries & being capable of charging a pair of rechargeable AAAs in the unit. Now if this proves too unreliable to identify the type of battery, then go with an industry standard rechargeable like a protected, button-top 18650 (I realize there is also the safety issue of ppl using an unprotected flat-top 18650 so I'll leave it to the company to weigh the pros and cons – I honestly think if there was a removable protected 18650 in the unit, it would just stay there for years until it needed to be replaced (and can be done easily!) – ppl wouldn't fiddle with it until then). The point being is I wish companies would move towards industry-standard, user-replaceable rechargeable batteries so products like this can last well beyond the life of its internal battery & not go in the trash (this is a pet peeve of mine if you haven't guessed!) the only other thing I want to add is I would have preferred higher sensitivity (less than 1g) over the high weight capacity of 15kg. I didn't realize I had a handful of items that were less than a gram. 100mg (0.1g) sensitivity would have been a bonus. Now that I've measured out the items in my backpack, I'm now looking forward to seeing how practical it is to set aside my measuring spoons & cups and repeatedly use the tare function for recipes! ideally, this will reduce cleanup! I will update this review once I make one of my favorites & it comes out better than expected 🙂 for the price I paid for this scale, I definitely would recommend it for casual use – it's definitely small enough to throw in a small drawer! UPDATE: I got a second "crystal" scale for the kitchen because it is a few inches larger than the Black one – more surface area means a more accurate reading for larger items (no need to use a separate container like I have to for the smaller one) The larger one also looks nicer because it has a glass surface (the silver top on the smaller one smudges super easily). They both have the same exact electronics & recommend the smaller one for traveling and the glass one for at home (eg. in the kitchen). The button text on my large Grey one is definitely hard to read – there isn't enough contrast (white on Black is much better, see photo). I also ran into a small QC issue with the Crystal one – one of the feet is maybe 0.5mm short so it wobbles/rocks every time I push the Tare button, it's slightly annoying but doesn't effect the accuracy of the scale – I don't have this issue with the smaller one. Customer support is excellent – be sure to send them an email to extend your warranty!

Good quality accurate light weight and multiple weight options takes 2 AAA batteries and it able to fit my stand mixer bowl and other ceramic mixing bowls that are pretty big. 1 thing to mention make sure when you unbox and start to use not sure it’s on all but my batteries were wrapped in plastic sill. It don’t affect the usage actually only noticed when I went to change them and it might just be a me thing but I didn’t want batteries with plastic just out of safety concerns not sure what could happen but again just odd to me thought I’d mention. But product is great. I actually bought my mother in law one as well.

Look, I’m a married guy who likes to think he’s the king of the grill, portioning out steaks like a pro and pretending I know what “meal prep” means. Then this 33lb Digital Kitchen Scale showed up – all shiny 304/305 stainless steel (whatever, it’s fancy metal) looking like it belongs in a spaceship kitchen, not my cluttered counter full of kid snacks and mystery Tupperware.

Operation? Super simple. Even I can figure it out without reading the manual – which I didn’t, because men don’t do that. Turn it on, slap your bowl down, hit tare, add food. Boom. It switches between grams, ounces, whatever – faster than I switch excuses when my wife asks why the garage still isn’t organized.

But here’s the catch: this thing demands respect. Gotta put it on a flat surface or it throws a tantrum like my toddler when nap time’s suggested. I tried using it on my slightly warped cutting board once – numbers jumping around like they were at a rave. Moved it to the counter? Perfect. Stable as my fantasy football team after the draft (before reality hits).

The shiny appearance? Bro, this thing is a mirror. I catch myself checking my hair in it while weighing chicken. Fingerprints show up like evidence at a crime scene, but guess what – super easy to clean. Just wipe it down and it’s back to blinding you with reflections. My wife loves that part; she’s already threatened to use it as a backup mirror for her makeup.

The rechargeable aspect though? Game-changer. No more hunting for weird batteries at 10 PM when you’re mid-recipe. Plug it in with the Type-C (comes with batteries too, smart), and it lasts forever. I charged it once when it arrived, and it’s still going strong – kinda like my marriage, but with fewer arguments over who forgot to buy milk.

Handles up to 33lbs, which means I can weigh an entire Thanksgiving turkey if I want (or my disappointment after the Lions game). Accurate as hell – caught me sneaking extra cheese on the tacos last night. Wife just held it up like, “See? Told you.” Thanks, scale.

If you’re a husband trying to eat better (or just pretend to while the wife’s watching), or anyone who wants precision without the hassle, buy this. It’s sleek, sturdy, and honestly the most judgmental thing in my kitchen now – and that’s saying something.

10/10. Would weigh my regrets again.

(Sidebar: If this scale teams up with my smart fridge, I’m done for. They’ll start a support group for overeaters.)
